Italian food lovers, get ready. The world-famous Italian marketplace Eataly is officially making its way to Houston, with construction plans now filed under project #TABS2026004229 at 5000 Westheimer Road, Suite 15, in the Centre at Post Oak near the Galleria. (Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation filing)

The project calls for a 20,050-square-foot buildout and an estimated $11.5 million investment, with construction slated to begin in January 2026, according to public filings and local coverage from The Houston Chronicle.

A First for Houston

Eataly, known for blending a high-end Italian grocery, multiple dining concepts, and cultural experiences under one roof, will finally give Houston its own taste of this global culinary brand. The Houston site will join a growing U.S. lineup that includes New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and Las Vegas.

What to Expect

Eataly’s signature format includes:

  • Several restaurants ranging from grab-and-go counters to full-service Italian dining
  • A marketplace selling authentic imported products such as pasta, olive oil, espresso, and regional cheeses
  • Live cooking demonstrations, classes, and wine tastings

Its Galleria location will make it a magnet for business travelers, locals, and food enthusiasts seeking an immersive experience rather than a quick meal.

The Bigger Picture

Houston’s food scene has exploded in recent years with global brands and independent chefs pushing boundaries. Eataly’s arrival adds another layer to that evolution, positioning the city alongside other world-class culinary markets.

No official opening date has been announced yet, but once construction begins, the countdown to Houston’s most anticipated Italian destination will be on.
